My Artistic Journey

I've been sketching or painting all my life. My early passion for Art took me from sketchbooks to canvas, while pursuing a Fine Arts Degree at West Virginia State College, with minors in Music and History.

Several years and jobs later, and feeling a need for more meaning and inspiration, I found myself back in class at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and receiving a Graphic Design degree.

After leaving the Art Institute, I came home to the South and worked for over a decade as a graphic designer in Charlotte NC, In National Retail and Banking.

I left the corporate world some years ago to work full time as a Portrait Artist from my home studio, with a focus on Historic themes! I’m proud to currently have paintings at Historic Sites, Parks, and Museums in nine states.

I’m honored to have worked for the past couple of years with the                   South Carolina 250 Sesquicentennial Commission,  providing Revolutionary War Portraits for sites here in South Carolina on this 250th Anniversary of our War of Independence! I’m also currently partnering with SCETV, supplying Rev War Portraits for educational videos produced for SC Middle Schools!

As a Portrait Artist, I've dedicated myself to capturing the essence of my subjects. From Historic figures of the American Revolution to Contemporary faces or in Fantasy, my home studio is where the journey begins.

Under the watchful eye of Master Rubens!
